Breast Ptosis – Breast Lift Procedure – Boston

Breast Ptosis

Sagging breasts can be a symptom of aging. When the breast sag, also called breast ptosis, one of the main reasons is a loss of skin elasticity due to aging. If you are concerned about the appearance of your breasts due to sagging, the breast lift can rejuvenate the breasts for a more youthful, proportionate look.

Generally, breast ptosis is measured by the degree that the nipple sags in relation to the inframammary fold. There are four degrees of ptosis, from mild to severe.

Consulting with board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Bartlett will help you determine the degree of sagging of your breasts. Pregnancy is known to affect the shape of the breasts, and there is often little that some women can do to prevent it; bras do not prevent breast ptosis.
